Overview

LLE has grown profitably while relying on project-generated cash, higher-margin services, nontraditional financing relationships, and strategic partnerships. After a $150,000 line of credit is denied, learners evaluate self-financing, a diversified nontraditional financing network, and strategic partner capital.

Players tasks

Have learners evaluate all three financing strategies, compare cost, cash flow, risk, ownership/control, growth speed, flexibility, and independence, make and defend a primary recommendation, and select one 90-day implementation action.

Learning objectives

Learners analyze financial bootstrapping, working-capital pressure, cost of capital, debt and control, resource dependence, financing diversification, and strategic partner capital.
